Three Things to Remember from the Last Article
1. Knowing what the church is matters more than most Christians realise. Ecclesiology — the study of the church — defines what the church is, what it does, and who belongs to it. Just as your family shapes your identity, your understanding of the church shapes your Christian identity.
2. The day of Pentecost was like no other day in human history. One hundred and twenty people in an upper room. Wind. Fire. Languages never learned. Three thousand people were saved in a single day. Whatever you believe about when the church began, no one disputes Pentecost changed everything forever.
3. When the church began is one of theology's most contested questions. Did the church begin at Pentecost — or as far back as Adam and Eve? Two major theological traditions give two very different answers. Covenantal theology says the church began in the Old Testament. Dispensational theology says it began at Pentecost. The answer matters more than you might think — and we will follow the evidence in the weeks ahead.
